Garden Grove City Councilman Van Tran is expected to easily win election in November to the 68th District of the State Assembly, making him the highest ranking Vietnamese-American politician in the country. The state Republican Party is taking note, and has opened a permanent office in Little Saigon. It is one of several efforts being made by Republicans to bring immigrant communities into the Grand Old Party.
