Proposition 75 was rejected by voters in the November 2005 election.
We asked Dan Weintraub from the Sacramento Bee and Bob Stern from the Center for Governmental Studies to comment on Proposition 75, which would cripple California’s public employee unions’ ability to play a critical role in state politics. While the two seasoned analysts are not in complete agreement on the measure’s genesis nor its fate, they do concur on a strikingly provocative claim had it not been for Prop. 75, there might not have been a special election this year.
