First Person: Chris Bertelli, CA Homeland Security

Produced by Mimi Kent

With its size, strategic placement, multitudes of people and a long list of possible targets, keeping California safe from the risk of terrorist attacks is a tough job. Add to that limited funds, which must be divided among the 50 states, and the job becomes next to impossible.

We sat down with Chris Bertelli, deputy director of the California Office of Homeland Security, for a “reality check” on our state security challenges and what it would take to address them.
