Executive Producer Bret Marcus joins Producer Coll Metcalfe, and Associate Producer Anne Lilburn to discuss Deadly Pursuit and Cut to the Chase, two segments examining the California car chase. Here is a solution to the police pursuit problem. Give cops a special rifle that shoots a sticky blob at the fleeing car. In this blob is a GPS transmitter. Now the cops can back off and track the vehicle on computer screens in their cars. In due time, they will be able to close in on the suspect in a safer fashion.

Looking around on the web, I see there already is GPS a product for police pursuit. It’s called StarChase.
