You are to be saluted for your coverage of the San Pasqual program on both the foster care youth and the volunteers who become their grandparents.
Your program shown tonight on the foster care youth, along with the volunteer “grandparents” was great to see. Having worked with foster care youth who were close to emancipation, I am well aware of how quickly they get lost in our society upon emanicpation and many quickly become homeless.
America is a wealthy country and we have been blessed in so many ways, particularly our freedoms in democracy and our way of life. However, there is so much more to be done.
Although I do not live in the San Pasqual area, I would like to participate in some way as a grandmother. I do not know if this is possible, as I do realize that your must be careful as to who is contacting these very vulnerable youth. Perhaps I could work with someone within my own area to copy your program within this area, under the supervision of someone from the San Pasqual area. Let me know.
