Greetings from Mariposa’s Stamp Mill

California Connected visits a five stamp mill in Mariposa. During the height of the gold rush in the mid-1800’s, gold stamp mills dotted the landscape. Working 24 hours a day, they smashed large chunks of rock from the Sierra Nevada, releasing the gold from the quartz.
